17th Century Céreste-en-Luberon is located at the foot of the Luberon mountain range, between Forcalquier and Apt. A charming village, they are known for their 17th century homes, porticos and walls made of antique French limestone. They are also known for their tuiles, hand made terra cotta roofing tiles. The color of these roofing tiles are a splendid mirror image to the French reclaimed terra cotta tile lot we salvaged about 2 kilometers from the center of town. A soft color palette of gentle wheat, blush, creme, griege and clay with a worn patina are the prized attributes one looks for in handmade antique French terra cotta tiles. Artisanal craftmanship over 150-years ago, for an inspiration mood board, we paired this French reclaimed terra cotta tile hexagon with our antiqued French oak flooring in color: Queen's Hamlet. Interior designers would easily chose the terra cotta tile for a kitchen floor and the French oak floor juxtaposing the dining and living spaces. These materials together will harmonize the aesthetic into an authentic Provençal interior.
