Often called the "Venice of the North", Bruges is renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture, canals and cobblestone streets. Just outside of Bruges, we reclaimed a magnificently historic lot of antique Belgian bluestone from a dilapidated old farmhouse. With original 200-year old patina, this lot's color variation ranges from deep blue-black to slate gray. What makes this antique Belgian bluestone spectacular is it's surface texture. The contrasted mix of satiny, smooth patina to mottled patina with 10,000 year old sea shells to actual linear hand-hammered workmanship becomes an historic floor seemingly more like a sculptural art piece. We paired this with our antiqued French oak floors from the Olde Oak Collection. Combining theses two historic materials together would create an 18th century time warp of handsome elegance.
